The Greene County volleyball team marked homecoming week with a three set sweep of the Saydel Eagles in Des Moines Tuesday evening.
In the first set, the Eagles scored seven points before the Rams tied it 7-7. The teams stayed even with each other and the Rams won 26-24. In the second set, the score was tied 14-14 until the Rams scored 11 of the last 13 points. Final score was 25-16. The third set see-sawed, but with the Rams behind by one point, 19-20, and senior Bailey Godwin serving, the Rams scored six points to win 25-20.
The win put the Rams at 4-2 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference and 9-7 overall. The Eagles fell to 0-5 in the HOIAC and 4-13 overall.
